About
Why make a site like this?
The ease of computer use + the Internet has caused an explosion of personal options. Computing is becoming easier and more accessible by the day. Unfortunately, tasks could always be a little more intuitive and we are increasingly less likely to read the documentation.
In my opinion, from 1990 - 2000, the bulk of the 2nd wave of the “personal” computer revolution was happening inside of the business environment. Over the last 5-10 years key changes have set the stage for computers to be commonly used as personal tools. Millions of people interact daily over high speed Internet, free wifi hotspots, smart phones, social network sites, etc. Although the individual components and tools have been previously available, it seems as though we are now truly in a phase of ubiquitous computing.
The new challenge: how do we recognize that new tools / features are available and how do we get up to speed in a few minutes or less. The goal of everydaydemo is help people get around these minor obstacles quickly.
